PY 2026-2027 P4P Cohorts

The MVC Component of the BCBSM P4P Program scores hospitals on both improvement and achievement for their selected metrics. For the purposes of calculating achievement scores relative to a hospital's peers, MVC assigns cohorts for its episode spending and value metric measures. For Program Years 2026-2027, there are three cohort buckets:

1. MVC Main Cohorts: These cohorts are used for scoring episode spending and value metrics related to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), congestive heart failure (CHF), pneumonia, preoperative testing, and sepsis. This includes the COPD and CHF episode spending metrics, the preoperative testing value metric, and the COPD, CHF, pneumonia, and sepsis follow-up metrics.
2. MVC Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) Cohorts: These cohorts are used for scoring the CABG episode spending metric and the cardiac rehabilitation after CABG value metric.
3. MVC Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) Cohorts: These cohorts are used for scoring the PCI episode spending metric and the cardiac rehabilitation after PCI value metric.
